Summer means fun in the sun, but it also means finding fun ways to cool off.
Visiting Typhoon Texas Waterpark's wonderland of pools, waterslides, and other water features is one of our real estate agents' favorite ways to spend a summer afternoon.
Locations and Admission
Typhoon Texas Waterpark currently has two largely identical parks in operation: one in Houston and one in Austin. The Austin location is the original and is also the closest to our Pflugerville homes for sale.
Adult guests can purchase day tickets for $44.99 ($39.99 if purchased online), while tickets for seniors, members of the military, and children under 48 inches tall are available at a slightly discounted $34.99. Guests can also rent shaded cabanas with upgraded furniture and curtains for an additional fee.
If you know you'll be visiting a few times during the 2022 season, you can purchase a Season Pass for $74.99 instead. These passes get you unlimited access to both parks as well as discounts on food, drink, guest tickets, and more. At less than the cost of two adult day tickets, this pass offers clear value for anyone interested in repeat visits.
Attractions
Kids will love scrambling up the Gully Washer, a four-story playground for children between 2 and 10 years old. Equipped with a splash pad for the toddlers and topped with a massive water bucket, this space can entertain kids of all ages for hours. Nearby Howdy Hollow has even more play equipment, including basketball hoops and a crawl net.
Infants and toddlers will enjoy playing at the Buckaroo Bayou, a space filled with splash fountains, interactive water features, and pint-sized slides perfect for easing young kids into the fun before they're old enough to move on to more intense attractions.
Adults and older children will find no shortage of fun here either. From the trio of exciting waterslides in The Snake Pit to the five high-intensity slides that make up The Duelin' Daltons, you'll have plenty to do during your outing. Beware – these rip-roaring thrill rides are not for the faint of heart! Only guests who are over 4 feet tall can ride them.
If tranquil relaxation is more your style, you can try the Lazy T River. Guests of all ages can enjoy floating on an inner tube down miles of crystal-clear waterways that loop around the park. There are several entrances and exits positioned around different attractions, so it's easy to sit back and let the gently flowing water carry you from one exciting area to the next.
Events
All of the events feature special theming, live entertainment, exciting contests, and other additions that make them worth planning your visits around. Note that most of them take place in the evening and may require special tickets, so be sure to check the specifics of any you want to attend.

Our real estate agents have visited it many times and highly recommend it to anyone in the area. Eager to check it out yourself? Here are all the details you'll need to slot a visit into your busy schedule.
Round Rock Market Days is a monthly community market event that brings together local vendors and residents for a day of shopping, food, and fun. It takes place on the first Saturday of every month at 221 East Main Street in Round Rock's downtown core, right across from the library and just around the corner from many of our Round Rock homes for sale. The nearby Prete Plaza is often used as a stage by musicians as part of the event.
The market is open from 9 AM to 4 PM and is free to enter. Visitors are welcome to stay as long as they like, regardless of whether they make a purchase, but we're guessing you'll find it hard to resist picking up a few new treasures.
Food, Music, and Fundraising
One of the market's main attractions is its live musical performances. Many local musicians enjoy taking to the stage to share their talents with their community, but ordinary Round Rock residents are sometimes invited to take the mic too. Their upbeat tunes are sure to keep you tapping your toes all afternoon.
If you get hungry during your visit, consider stopping by some of the on-site food vendors for some lunch. These tents and trucks cover a wide variety of different cuisines and offer some of the best food in the Round Rock area.
Finally, Round Rock Market Days also frequently hosts fundraisers and donation drives for important local causes. From raising money to pay for knee surgery for a local senior in need to collecting food donations for the Williamson County Children's Advocacy Center, the market's generous attendees have done a lot of good so far in 2022.
Vendors and Crafts
Want to follow up your delicious lunch with a day of shopping? It's time to explore the market's sprawling array of vendor tents and stands. Whether you're looking for a gift for a loved one or a special treat for yourself, it's the perfect place to pick up something unique that you would never find on mass-market store shelves.
Clothing, candles, luxury soaps, and other quality items from local companies like Triple Charm Co. and Ford & Fossil. Many local artists also sell paintings, prints, postcards, and other stunning works. Don't forget all the sweet treats, bread, and jams available from Round Rock's bakeries, confectioners, and other culinary businesses!
Many local businesses that offer classes and other services also turn up at the market to bring live demonstrations and exclusive discounts to Round Rock residents. Club Pilates Round Rock and 7 Star Martial Arts are just some of the many companies that have made an impressive showing at this community event. Be sure to check back every month to see what else might be in store.

There's a lot to explore in Georgetown, TX, a small city about 25 minutes north of Austin. Georgetown offers sweeping Texas Hill Country scenery, picturesque lagoons along the San Gabriel River, and a downtown district that has been called the "Most Beautiful Town Square in Texas."
But Georgetown's most enticing landscape may be deep underground. Join us as we explore the unique world of Inner Space Cavern, one of Texas' largest cave systems, located just minutes from these Georgetown homes for sale.
A Hidden World
Like many cave systems, the undergrown labyrinth now known as Inner Space Cavern was discovered by accident. It was actually the Texas Highway Department that stumbled upon the previously-unknown cave system in 1963 while constructing an I-35 overpass.
During the process of regulation core testing, the construction crew inadvertently drilled into the cave eight times. Unable to find any other access to what they knew they had found, they drilled a 2-foot wide hole down 33.5 feet through the limestone bedrock, creating the first usable passage into the caves.
Exploring 'Inner Space'
Through that original borehole, dubbed the 'Discovery Hole,' scientists began exploring this brand-new cave system. A larger hole was subsequently created, but to this day, no natural entrance to Inner Space Cavern has ever been found.
We now know that all-natural entryways to Inner Space Cavern have been closed for about 14,000 years. But we are far from the only ones to have ever seen the caves, as Ice Age fossils of saber-toothed tiger, wooly mammoth, and giant sloth found within attest to.
At present, several miles of passageways have been explored, some of which are now open to the public. But the majority of Inner Space Cavern's unknown depths remain unexplored. Still, the small portion that we've been able to access has given us some truly amazing discoveries.
See for Yourself
Roughly 1.2 miles of Inner Space Cavern is open to the public and has been since 1966. Portions that are publicly accessible include winding passages and large, open 'rooms' adorned with striking cave formations. Drapery columns and a large room known as the Ice Cream Parlor are highlights of the cave.
A variety of tours are available. These range from simple walking tours to more advanced wild cave spelunking tours. Check out the official Inner Space Cavern website to learn more about the various options available to the public.
The basic cave tour is known as the Adventure Tour. It lasts about an hour and includes parts of the cave that are flat, fully illuminated, and open enough that one can comfortably walk upright. The slightly longer Hidden Passages Tour is a bit more physically demanding, taking visitors through newly-opened passages that are at times narrower and less developed. Wear closed-toe shoes and expect some uneven ground.
The most challenging and rewarding tour is the Wild Cave Tour. Lasting up to 4 hours, this tour involves hiking, climbing, crawling, and squeezing through tight spots but rewards visitors with an opportunity to experience parts of Inner Space Cavern that few ever see.
